About the North Shore of Lake Superior
The North Shore offers a variety of activities and attractions to enjoy during your next trip. From hiking trails to an alpine slide. Waterfalls to a scenic gondola ride. There is something for everyone!
Some of our favorite places nearby:
Naniboujou Lodge: Right next door! Come enjoy a meal in one of Minnesota’s most historic dining rooms. The largest stone fireplace in the state of Minnesota dominates the west end of the dining room, standing at over 20 feet tall and built from over 200 tons of native Lake Superior stones. Seasonally open.
Devil’s Kettle: The mysterious Devil’s Kettle waterfall is a fascinating landmark, a good hour-long hike (one way) up the Brule. The trail connects to the Superior Hiking Trail if you want to keep going!
High Falls: Just before the Canadian border, Grand Portage State Park is a beautiful location with stunning views and only about a half-hour drive away!
Artist’s Point: When in Grand Marais, head down to Artist’s Point and the lighthouse for great views of the town and Lake Superior.
Brule River: Just a short walk down the beach is the Brule River! It’s a relatively quiet, chill spot for those looking for a leisurely trek, sounds of flowing water, and maybe some fishing.
